lyrics

Is there any merit in the melody? Is it bettering? Since my healing I've been seething, found release but not relieving these teething pains. Though I'm feeling better these days.
The irony comes creeping in, as the inspiration thins. I've always thought I was better than this, but through frustration I'm twisted. Every inch of me contorting and pouring out. Happier than I have ever been before, but does the art suffer when my heart doesn't suffer any more?

Not that I'm craving discomfort, or begging for another fight, quite the opposite in fact, I resent my past and embrace the light.

Should it really be a choice between the bitterness and burning leaves, or the riverside and living out my dreams? Did I spend too long planting seeds?

22 years awake and still I find it hard to rest, writing rhymes in lines to lift the weight from off my chest.

Seeking solace in escape so I can sleep, punctuating work with substance to break the week.

But now with someone there to fill the space, replacing numbness with that welcome embrace. Taking time for myself to fix the hole in my head, sleep returns with every night in your bed. Every night in your bed.

Should it really be a choice between the bitterness and burning leaves, or the riverside and living out my dreams? Did I spend too long planting seeds?

Hollow, the cave. Caffeine pick me up for long days. From head's rest, to wake. Wrap my chest, keep my heart safe. Without you it's just too much to take. Nothing more than a wage slave. Thank god I'm done with heartbreak.
