Scott McKenna It took me a few days to honestly get in to this, not because it is a departure from their previous tech-metal sound, but more down to the fact that there's a lot of good math-rock bands at the moment.

Thankfully this stands up with their peers and warrants repeat listening. I would liken this song to throwing Minus The Bear, Infinity Land era Biffy Clyro and Proceed into the mixing pot.

lyrics

When the curtain falls,
Lights up but I'm pinned to my seat,
Trapped in the space between these walls.
This tired body is weak,
I never thought I'd bury this,
but despite the weather, I'm getting better.

Sharing skin, stretched taut over too many bones.
Breathe it in, that welcome warmth for cold throats.
Emotional drought (crawl out from the wreckage),
Loathing self-doubt (and tend to your wounds).
Hide it away, and bandage the pain.

Tried my best to see the light,
but I'm so sick of these polarised emotions.
I've been running West for hours now,
but still not getting any closer.
To the end of things, the final call,
moving on, and letting go.
I'm turning back the hourglass,
I'm trying to make the most of this.

When the curtain falls,
Lights up but I'm pinned to my seat,
Trapped in the space between these walls.
This tired body is weak,
I never thought I'd bury this,
but despite the weather, I'm getting better.

With the distance still growing,
All that's left hangs over me.
Every night that I sleep,
Watching it play on repeat.
So with each day that goes on,
I'll watch it drift away.
Until I'm safe,
When I'm awake.

When the curtain falls,
Lights up but I'm pinned to my seat,
Trapped in the space between these walls.
This tired body is weak,
I never thought I'd bury this,
but despite the weather, I'm getting better.
