lyrics
Watching leaves turn, endless colour creeping in.
The patchwork curtain through my window frame.
Now it's freezing, trees stripped to skeletons.
That woodland carpet, rotting patchwork to replace.
Though every year might seem the same,
Each leaf that falls will grow again.
Smell the flowers on the evening breeze,
And do away with all the memories.
Fear of quiet mornings and lonely nights,
Wake up, just give it a chance.
Staying clean and making sure to do things right,
Youth is wasted on young romance.
One last look's been crippling me,
One last look's still crippling me.
What if we run, chasing colours to the wind?
To the mountains where the sky is torn.
You're still leaving? Then leave don't play it up.
No more chasing, I'm not bothering at all.
The kettle sings by light of day,
I'm slow to wake, but clocking in.
This town looks so pretty from the hills at night.
I can't complain,
This second wind comes creeping in, and lifts the weight.
Out of the grey a subtle beauty in the light.
Fear of quiet mornings and lonely nights,
Wake up, just give it a chance.
Staying clean and making sure to do things right,
Youth is wasted on young romance.

Quite possibly the most full-on album I've ever listened to. Intense, and then some. 'Digital Tarpit' could describe both the track and the whole album: high-pitched guitar squeals that make your fillings itch coupled with merciless, suffocating heaviness. The Avenell-esque vocals top it off perfectly.
Brilliant - punishing, but brilliant. jim_fuego
